Game Of Thrones season 4 started filming in the summer of 2013 and aired almost one year later in June 2014. The filming locations for the 4. season are located in three different countries in Europe. In comparison, the 3rd season was filmed in five different countries.

Where was Game of Thrones season 4 filmed?
Game Of Thrones season 4 was filmed in Ireland, Iceland, and Croatia. The interior studio filming is done in the Paint Hall studios in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Morroco no longer represents the places in Essos like it did in season 3. Daenerys Targaryen takes over Meereen in season 3. Meereen is now being presented by various places in Croatia like Split and Šibenik, replacing locations in Marocco.
Iceland was used only for scenes beyond the wall in season 2 and season 3. In season 4 however, they also used various locations on Iceland to portrait places in the Seven Kingdoms.
