Where was Game of Thrones season 2 filmed?
As well as in season 1 the interior scenes in Game of Thrones season 2 are mostly shot in the Paint Hall studios in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The exterior scenes were also in the majority shot on locations in Northern Ireland. Scenes that represent the south or warmer regions like Quarth were moved from Malta to Dubrovnik, Croatia. The scenes beyond the wall were shot in the woods of North Ireland for the first four episodes. But as the story evolves and the Night’s watch party moves more and more into the wastelands in the north, filming locations switch to Iceland.
