“It’s too hot. The fish are all hiding in the rocks, or keeping cool at the bottom of the sea.”
Where did they film the Jetty scenes?
When Pelagia (Penélope Cruz) meets Madras (Christian Bale) on the wooden jetty Madras grabs Pelagia and throws her into the water. Then he jumps after her. The stunning beach in the secluded bay is called Horgota beach. You will find this filming location in the northeastern part of the island Kefalonia, Greece. It is aproximatly 45 min drive away from the town of Sami.
The jetty was constructed for the film and was left there for quite some years after that. Over the years it seems to have been dismantled however and you won’t find it there anymore. A trip to the Horgota beach is still worth the while because of its beauty.
