“They say we only use a fraction of the true potential of our brains… but they’re talking about when we’re awake. While we dream, the mind performs wonders.”
Where did they film the scenes in the Paris cafe?
The cafe from the movie Inception is called Cafe “Debussy” and was transformed into the picturesque cafe only for the movie. The place where Cafe Debussy was, changed its purpose over the years. Now it is an Italian restaurant called Il Russo. Although it does not look the same as Debussy, the restaurant has its own “Parisian” charm.

Cobb explains to Ariadne how dreams are working
Ariadne (Ellen Page) and Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) are sitting at a Cafe in Paris. Cobb explains to Ariadne that dreams can be created and controlled. He then tells her that this is where she comes in, to create the dream world and let a subject believe it is the real world. Ariadne is skeptical about creating a world in such detail that a person could be fooled by it. Then Cobb explains that dreams always feel real. It’s only when we wake up that we notice something was strange. Then Cobb asks Ariadne if she remembers how they got to the cafe. Ariadne tries to remember but she can’t. Then she realizes they are in a dream right at that moment. The dream suddenly gets unstable because of Ariadne and everything around them seems to explode into fragments.
